My interest in projection mapping began early in the fall semester my sophomore year at SVA. I was offered to assist one of the instructors in the projection mapping of art installation for a Computer Art Senior year Thesis. Throughout the year I gained some interesting knowledge but still only scratched the surface of this incredible medium.
Along with being inspired by various You Tube videos (which I will post)dealing with projections I am also inspired by a great many cinematographers, such as Stanley Kubrick, Ridley Scott, George Romero, Christopher Nolan, William Castle, and of course Alfred Hitchcock. Along with that I enjoy the art work of Egon Schiele, and the photography of Alfred Stieglitz and Felice Beato. I hope that our collaboration will open my eyes to new styles and maybe inspire others as well.

Here is an inspirational photo for the set design. I like the possibility of projecting an illusion that the cube is more transparent than it is allowing viewer to see through to action occurring on the other side. This effect can be achieved by splashing similar light onto the ceiling from behind the piece in order to define a realistic light source. Attachments:
